To equip students with fundamental study and academic skills needed for postsecondary or higher education studies (from OAS).
Students learn some new techniques that will help them to study successfully in their college courses and to use them as lifelong learning skills.
This course includes Time Management, Writing and Reading Methods, Memorization Skills, Note-Taking as well as Critical Thinking skills. Through this module, we target skills development, through individual, pair and group work, interaction with the provided topics, performance, and finally teachers’ feedback. Students practice this during class time.
Most activities are conducted in the Activity Room, in the lab or outside the formal classroom settings. Indeed, this course can also assist students in overcoming their learning difficulties; and creating a different atmosphere for the students. They are challenged to think positively and be confident about achieving success in college and after graduation. This course is 10% of students’ total marks. They are assessed as continuous assessment through attendance, participation and task achievement.
